Cavender's Founder Dies at 87

 

SAN ANTONIO, TX — The founder of the iconic western wear chain Cavender's has died. According to family members, James Robert Cavender died on Tuesday at the age of 87.

The announcement was posted on Facebook around 3:00 p.m. by friends and family.

Cavender's in San Angelo is located at 2520 Southwest Blvd.  

Cavender’s was founded by James and his wife, Pat, in Pittsburg, TX in 1965. The company has over 65 locations across Texas, Oklahoma, Louisiana, Kansas, Arkansas, Missouri, Colorado, and New Mexico. For over 50 years, the Cavender family has provided quality western wear in the true spirit of the Southwest.
