DEL RIO, TX — (CBP Press Release) U.S. Customs and Border Protection, Office of Field Operations CBP officers at the Del Rio Port of Entry seized methamphetamine valued at more than $247,000 in a vehicle compartment.
“This seizure is a great example of teamwork exhibited by our CBP officers,” said Port Director Mucia C. Dovalina, Del Rio Port of Entry. “Our frontline officers’ vigilance and unwavering commitment to CBP’s border security mission is reflected by this significant hard narcotics seizure.”
On Sunday, Feb. 25, CBP officers at the Del Rio Port of Entry referred a 2013 Chevrolet Cruze driven by a 22-year-old female Mexican citizen from Ciudad Acuña, Mexico. During the secondary inspection, CBP officers, along with the help of a canine team, located the alleged methamphetamine hidden within the vehicle. The estimated street value of the narcotics is over $247,000.
CBP OFO seized the narcotics. The case remains under investigation by Homeland Security Investigations special agents.
