German Chancellor Calls Governor Abbott Regarding Hurricane Harvey

 

AUSTIN, TX – Governor Abbott spoke with German Chancellor Angela Merkel to discuss the response to Hurricane Harvey.

Chancellor Merkel called Governor Abbott to express her sympathies for the communities and individuals impacted by Hurricane Harvey, according to the press release from the Office of the Texas Governor.

The Chancellor also offered to provide assistance and support during this challenging time.

The Governor thanked the Chancellor for her offer of support and they both expressed their commitment to further collaborate on ways that Germany can aid Texas. The conversation concluded after both leaders agreed to continue to strengthen the partnership between the people of Texas and Germany.
