DPS Trooper Returns to Service After Being Struck by a Drunk Driver

 

HOUSTON, TX -- Department of Public Safety (DPS) Trooper Chad Blackburn has returned to service after a year-long medical leave.

Trooper Blackburn was seriously injured on Labor Day weekend of 2016 after his patrol car was struck by a drunk driver, according to Texas DPS.

He celebrated his return with his brother, fellow Trooper Dustin Blackburn, and other coworkers, Corporal Renita Coleman, Trooper Brenda Hoover, and Darla Ross Freeman.
