Pecos the Cat is Found!

SAN ANGELO, TX – Pecos the cat is finally home and safe in Christoval.  The American shorthair orange stripped tabby cat had been missing since April 4 of this year. See "Pecos the Cat: Marketing Ploy or Missing Pet."

Pecos’ owners, Katie and her husband, put up signs and banners all around Christoval and rented billboards for months in San Angelo and Menard in an effort to find their beloved cat.

Katie said this morning that Travis, a cowboy who works on a ranch about four miles from Christoval on Door Key Rd., saw the signs and gave her call as Travis had been feeding an orange cat for about a week and a half.

Katie and her husband went out to the ranch and immediately knew it was him.  “He’s my little miracle,” Katie said.  “I was right to leave the signs and billboards up for so long!”

Katie added she had about 35 people who called and tried to help her find Pecos.  “I’m going to call and thank each and every one of them. There’s still a lot of good, caring people in the world.”

Pecos was at the vet’s office in Christoval for a checkup this morning. Katie noted Pecos was real thin and his sides were sunk in, but other than that, he was okay.
