Teen Missing from Alabama Located in El Paso after 16 Months

Montgomery, AL – A teenager from Crenshaw County, Alabama, who went missing back in Dec. 2015, was located in El Paso yesterday, after missing for sixteen months.

CBS 7 reported that the teen went missing after telling her parents she would take out the trash.

A neighbor mentioned seeing her walk down the street before "vanishing from sight." There had been no contact between the family and the young female until she called her mother a few days ago,  CBS 7 reported.

The teenager was found to be in healthy condition and was reunited with her mother yesterday in El Paso.

Photos taken by the FBI showed that the teen was happy and healthy.

“All I care about is the fact that my niece has been found, she’s safe, [and] alive,” the teen’s uncle told CBS 7 in an interview.

There have been no details released as to why the teen left her home, or why she suddenly contacted her family.
