DEL RIO, TX- U.S. Border Patrol agents assigned to the Uvalde Station were instrumental in fighting a house fire over the weekend.
On Jan. 22, at approximately 4:45 p.m., Border Patrol Agents observed smoke billowing from a house in the 1200 block of Missouri Avenue in Big Wells, Texas. Agents organized and assisted residents in containing the blaze. Their combined efforts were successful in limiting the fire to only one structure until the Dimmit County Volunteer Fire Department arrived and assumed control of the scene.
“The men and women of the U.S. Border Patrol are dedicated to the protection of our community,” said Del Rio Sector Acting Chief Patrol Agent Matthew J. Hudak. “Agents realized the need for assistance and confronted the crisis in order to protect the citizens of Big Wells. I am proud of the efforts of these brave agents to save lives and protect property.”
