Sweetwater Driver License Office Closes for Renovation

 

LUBBOCK, TX- A press release from the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) has announced that the Sweetwater Driver License Office (SDLO) will be temporarily closed for renovations on Jan. 2, 2017.

The press release stated, “When work is complete, the new Sweetwater office will feature upgrades, including increased capacity and new technology designed to improve efficiency and customer service. The office is expected to reopen to the public on Jan. 23, 2017.”

DPS is encouraging customers in the area that until the SDLO is re-opened, they should visit the Abilene, Snyder, or Anson Driver License Office. “DPS would encourage the customer to call any of the offices before traveling to them as the Snyder and Anson Driver License office are not open every day,” the press release states.

  • Abilene Driver License Office- 325-695-0988   Open Monday-Friday
  • Anson Driver License Office- 325-823-3631 Open Monday-Friday (Except the 1, 3, and 5 Wednesday of month from 8:30-5:00)
  • Snyder Driver License Office-  325-573-5631  Open Tuesday-Thursday (8:45-4:00)

Online serves are also available for Texans that are eligible. Online services are available for driver license/ID card renewals, duplicates or address changes. These services can be found at https://www.texas.gov/ or by phone at 1-866-357-3639.

The eligibility requirements for phone renewal and online renewal are the same. The fee is the same for online, in-person and telephone renewals.
