No Arrests Made 6 Years After Hailey Dunn's Disappearance

COLORADO CITY, TX – Six years after Hailey Dunn disappeared from her hometown Colorado City, her case remains unsolved. Hailey’s remains were found and identified in March of 2013.

The 13 year-old was reported missing on December 27, 2010 after her mother realized Hailey was nowhere to be found. According to reports, nothing went missing from her room and there was no indication the teen had run away.

The last person to have reportedly seen Hailey was Shawn Adkins, her mother’s boyfriend at the time. As the investigation unfolded, affidavits obtained by local news sources state that Adkins statements were inconsistent. Police submitted Hailey’s mom, Billie Dunn, and Adkins to polygraph tests, and they both failed at the time.

Local news sources also reported that Adkins indicated Hailey could be found in Scurry County. When questioned once more, Adkins is said to have refused to answer the question. In March of 2013, Hailey's body was found near Lake J.B. Thomas, near Snyder, Texas.

Even after her remain were identified and the investigation continued, no arrests were made. Hailey Dunn’s murder remains free and her case file remains open.

Hailey's disappearance made headlines and resonated with communities all across Texas.
