Texas Secretary of State to Visit San Angelo

 

Secretary of State Carlos Cascos has been announced as the keynote speaker at the upcoming Governors Small Business Forum in San Angelo. 

Secretary Cascos was sworn as Texas’110 Secretary of State in March of this year. Calcos was born in Mexico and immigrated as a child. He graduated from the University of Texas in Austin and received his CPA. 

Secretary Cascos was elected as Cameron County Judge in 2006 and was re-elected in 2010 and 2014. He previously served on the Texas Public Safety Commission and as a Cameron County Commissioner from 1991 through 2002. 

Cascos has specified promoting Texas’ strong economy as a priority of his administration. 

Governor Greg Abbott’s Small Business Division, in conjunction with the San Angelo Development Corporation have announced the 2015 Governor’s Small Business Forum to be held in the San Angelo’s McNease Convention Center Oct. 27. 

The forum is an all-day event with numerous seminars conducted by guest speakers and panels. The Governor’s Small Business Forum connects veterans and small business entrepreneurs with the tools, training and resources needed to succeed in today's business market. 

Space and accommodations will limited to 200 attendees. Small business owners from throughout the region are invited to attend, on a first come, first serve basis. 

Contributing Forum hosts include: San Angelo Chamber of Commerce, Concho Valley Workforce Development, Angelo State University - SBDC, Howard College, and the Texas Veterans Entrepreneur Program.
