Two More Wall Hawks Sign to Play College Sports
WALL, TX — The success of the Wall Hawks athletics program continued on Wednesday, April 22, as two more Hawks signed to continue their athletic careers at the collegiate level.
Wall's Reid Ballard signed to play baseball at Odessa College, while Brady Neal signed with Sul Ross State to play football.
Watch an interview with both young men above.
Reid Ballard - Baseball - Odessa College
Ballard, one of the stars on the mound for the defending state champions and No. 9 Wall Hawks this season, decided to continue his work on the bump in the future in Odessa. He was a pivotal piece of the Hawks' successful 2025 playoff run and continues to make a significant impact this season as the Hawks pursue another state championship.
Ballard is a two-sport star for the Hawks in baseball and football, leading both programs to state titles in 2025.
He was a first-team all-state center for the football team, grading out at 96% last season while not allowing a sack for the second consecutive year.
He was also a first-team all-state third baseman on the baseball team who had a .329 batting average. He was an ace pitcher as well with a 10-0 record on the mound last season.
Brady Neal - Football - Sul Ross State
One of several members of the Hawks' football team that won a state championship in Arlington last December, Neal decided to take his talents to Alpine to continue playing running back. The key piece in Wall's run game last season, the 5-foot-11 Neal put together an explosive senior year after only getting seven carries as a junior.
Neal finished his senior campaign with 192 carries for 1,081 yards and 14 touchdowns. He also had 14 catches for 148 yards and two scores.
He was selected to the San Angelo LIVE! All-Cover 1 Team, and he was a first-team all-state honoree in the Padilla Coaches Poll. Neal will play for a Sul Ross program that competes in NCAA Division II in the Lone Star Conference with Angelo State University.
