Angelo State Hosts Texas A&M-Kingsville This Weekend
SAN ANGELO, TX — Angelo State returns to Foster Field this weekend to host Texas A&M-Kingsville in a four-game Lone Star Conference series beginning Friday.
First pitch for the opener is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. The teams will play a doubleheader on Saturday, with two seven-inning games at 4 p.m. and 7 p.m., followed by the series finale at 1 p.m. on Sunday.
The Rams come off a 3-1 series win on the road against Texas A&M International in Laredo last weekend.

Angelo State’s bullpen played a key role in the series victory. Luke Spencer recorded two saves, while Chance Douglas provided 4 1/3 innings of relief in Game 2. Garrett Baumann added 5 1/3 shutout innings across two appearances.
At the plate, Blake Wilhoite led the Rams with a .615 batting average, a .722 on-base percentage and a .692 slugging percentage. Payton Bush hit .583 with seven hits and four RBIs. Christian Garnette and Kannon Brooks also contributed with batting averages of .429 and .333, respectively.
Scouting Report: Texas A&M-Kingsville
Texas A&M-Kingsville enters the weekend 18-12 overall and has gone 9-6 both at home and on the road. The Javelinas are coming off a series win over Lubbock Christian, taking three of four games.
Offensively, Kingsville ranks among the top teams in the Lone Star Conference, averaging 8.1 runs per game with a .337 team batting average. The Javelinas lead the conference with 13 triples.
Landon Salinas leads the lineup with a 1.063 OPS, along with 10 doubles and 22 RBIs. Overall, seven Kingsville hitters are batting above .300.
On the mound, the Javelinas carry a 5.72 team ERA and lead the conference with 260 strikeouts. Zachary Walker leads the pitching staff with a 3-0 record and a 3.86 ERA over 32 2/3 innings.
