WATCH: Angelo State Names New Women's Soccer Head Coach

SAN ANGELO, TX – Angelo State University has announced the hiring of Harold Munoz as the fifth head coach in the history of its women’s soccer program.

Munoz, a native of Bogota, Colombia, has served as the Rambelles' assistant coach for the past nine seasons, helping guide the Rambelles to seven Lone Star Conference titles and five appearances in the NCAA Tournament.

He replaces longtime head coach Travis McCorkle, who led the Rambelles for 18 years. It is unclear why McCorkle and ASU parted ways.

In Munoz’s time at ASU, the Rambelles have gone 108-40-24 overall, achieving a season-best mark in 2024, when they went 14-2-5, won the LSC regular season and conference tournament and advanced to the regional final for the first time in program history.

That same season, Munoz was part of a coaching staff that was named the USC South Central Regional Coaching Staff of the Year.

Prior to joining ASU, Munoz served as the head coach for one season at Division II Georgia Southwestern, where he improved the team's winning percentage and led the program to its highest-scoring season in eight years.

Munoz served as a volunteer assistant at Division I Mercer from 2014-16, helping the Bears to win a school-record 14 games en route to claiming the SoCon Tournament Championship and an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.

Before his time in Georgia, Munoz served as the head men's soccer coach at fellow LSC school, Eastern New Mexico, where he led the Greyhounds to five winning seasons and an LSC Championship in 2011.

His first head-coaching gig came at NAIA school Midland University, where he led the Warriors to a 13-2-4 record and a runner-up finish in the Great Plains Athletic Conference.

He earned his undergraduate degree from NAIA Williams Woods University and his master's degree in Physical Education from Eastern New Mexico.

Munoz played collegiately at Williams Woods from 1998 to 2002, where he was a First Team All-American Midwest Conference selection. He played semi-professionally in the Canadian Professional Soccer League with the North York Astros and in the Premier Development League with the Sioux Falls Spitfire.

Muñoz currently holds a Premier Diploma and Goalkeeping Level I & II diplomas from the National Soccer Coaches Association of America.
