Angelo State Rambelles Play Final Home Games this Weekend
SAN ANGELO, TX — Angelo State will close out the home portion of its 2025-26 regular season this week, bringing an eight-game winning streak into matchups against Lubbock Christian and Midwestern State at the Junell Center–Stephens Arena.
The Rambelles host Lubbock Christian at 5:30 p.m. Thursday for Fiesta Night before facing Midwestern State at 1 p.m. Saturday.
Angelo State is coming off a win over St. Mary’s on Feb. 14 to cap a road trip through Central Texas. Landry Morrow led the Rambelles with 18 points, while Stevi Lockhart added 15 and Majik Esquivel finished with 14.
Scouting Report: Lubbock Christian
Lubbock Christian defeated Angelo State 77-59 on Dec. 6 in Lubbock behind a strong second quarter. Esquivel scored 16 in that meeting, with Taylor Grona adding 13, Morrow 11 and Lockhart 10.
The Lady Chaps enter the weekend 20-5 overall and 12-4 in Lone Star Conference play, good for fourth in the standings. Lubbock Christian swept Texas A&M-Kingsville and Texas A&M International last week.
LCU averages 68.0 points per game and shoots 44.5% from the field, 35.6% from 3-point range and 73.1% at the free-throw line. Kennedy Chappell leads the team at 15.9 points per game, followed by Meg Meekins at 13.2.
Defensively, the Lady Chaps allow just over 58 points per game while holding opponents to 36.9% shooting and averaging nearly 34 rebounds per contest.
Scouting Report: Midwestern State
Midwestern State beat Angelo State 65-58 on Dec. 3 in Wichita Falls after a slow start by the Rambelles. Esquivel and Keniah Williams each scored 17 points in that game.
The Mustangs enter 7-15 overall and 4-12 in conference play after coaching changes elevated graduate assistant Kyra Seggewiss to interim head coach. They won their first two games under her leadership against Texas A&M International and Texas A&M-Kingsville.
Midwestern State averages 65.5 points per game while shooting 34.2% from the field and 27.7% from beyond the arc. Kerbie Cash leads the team with 16.8 points and 7.7 rebounds per game.
The Mustangs allow 68 points per game and opponents shoot 44% from the field.
Angelo State will honor seniors and conclude its regular-season home schedule Saturday afternoon.
