WATCH: Central Football Headed Back to the Playoffs
SAN ANGELO, TX — The Central Bobcats (7-3) are headed back to the playoffs after the Bobcats' 52-16 win over Frenship last Thursday. The dominant district win gives Central some much-needed momentum headed into the Bi-District Playoff matchup with El Paso Pebble Hills (7-3) on Thursday, November 13, in Odessa.
Central's head coach, Mark Smith, talked about the win over Frenship and previewed the playoff matchup against Pebble Hills this weekend at his weekly press conference on Monday. Be sure to watch that press conference above.
Pebble Hills sports a 7-3 overall record this season. The only common opponent the two teams share this year was Midland High. Pebble Hills defeated the Bulldogs 13-12, while Central beat Midland High 34-27.
The Bobcats return to the playoffs for the first time since 2022 after finishing in third place (3-2) in District 2-6A play.
This will be the fourth meeting between Central and Pebble Hills. The two schools have met twice in the regular season and once in the playoffs. Central is undefeated against the Spartans, with the Bobcats' last victory coming in 2019 when Central mounted a 25-point comeback to claim a 44-40 win.
Central's playoff matchup against Pebble Hills is scheduled for 7 p.m. Thursday, November 13, at Ratliff Stadium in Odessa.
