No. 2 Wall Seeks Perfect Regular Season Friday at Stanton

WALL, TX — The No. 2 Wall Hawks (9-0) put their perfect season on the line this Friday as the Hawks travel to Stanton to play the Buffaloes in the final matchup of the 2025 regular season. With another solid win on Friday, the Hawks could carry much-needed momentum into the playoffs as Wall pursues a district championship.

Head Coach Craig Slughter talked about the matchup and the season as a whole on Wednesday after practice. Be sure to watch that interview above.

On paper, Wall is deservedly the heavy favorite in this matchup. Stanton sports a 1-8 overall record this season and sits at 0-3 in district play. While the Hawks have absolutely dominated every single game during district, the Buffaloes struggled.

With that being said, Wall needs to come out and prepare to stop an offense that likes to run as many plays as possible, as fast as possible throughout the game. If anything, this will be a good preview to the same kind of offense that Canadian runs—an opponent the Hawks are likely to see late in the playoffs. The defense needs to focus on forcing takeaways so Wall can put the game away early.

On offense, Wall needs to continue to focus on starting early and scoring often. Staying healthy is arguably more important than scoring 70 points at this point in the season, but the offense still needs a good showing to close out the year.

Kickoff in Friday's matchup is scheduled for 7 p.m. in Stanton.
