Angelo State HC Speaks on Victory Over Sul Ross State, Previews Central Washington

SAN ANGELO, TX — The No. 16 Angelo State Rams went on the road to Alpine last Saturday and delieverd a shut-out victory over Sul Ross State, 62-0.

Head Coach Jeff Girsch talked about the victory before previewing what is to come this weekend against one of the Lone Star Conference's powerhouses, No. 8 Central Washington.

"We have such respect for Central Washington and what they do," Coach Girsch said at the press conference on Monday. "I don't know if we have ever played them, and it has not come down to the last second, win or lose. They have an outstanding program, they do all the right things, and they will be one of the best coached teams we play all year."

No. 8 Central Washington currently sports an impressive, 7-1 record this season, with it's only loss against an FCS opponent. They are currently undefeated in Lone Star Conference play. A win this weekend would have huge playoff implications for the Rams moving forward.

The Rams travel to Ellensburg, WA, on Saturday to play Central Washington. Kickoff is scheduled for 8 p.m. CT.
