Angelo State Back on Track After Big Win at Home
SAN ANGELO, TX — The Angelo State Rams jumped back in the win column last Saturday after a huge win over Midwestern State. The Rams controlled the game from start to finish to claim victory, 42-24.
Head Coach Jeff Girsch talked about the win and previewed the upcoming matchup against Sul Ross State on Monday, October 20, at his weekly press conference at the Junell Center. Watch the entire press conference here.
The Rams finally looked like themselves after two weeks where miscues caused Angelo State to stumble. With the win, the Rams snapped a two-game losing streak and improved to 5-2 overall and 3-2 in Lone Star Conference play.
Midwestern State took an early 7-0 lead before the Rams responded with two touchdown passes from the Rams' two quarterbacks, Braeden Fuller and Kaeden Smith. Up 14-7, Angelo State never looked back as the Rams put the beatdown on the Mustangs.
Angelo State returns to action Saturday, Oct. 25, when the Rams travel to Alpine to face Sul Ross State.
Sul Ross State recently moved up from Division III to Division II when the Lobos joined the Lone Star Conference. While their record might be 0-7, the Rams should not overlook the Lobos. Sul Ross State continues to improve every week and almost won their first game this season when they fell 45-42 to Western New Mexico.
Kickoff in Saturday's matchup is scheduled for 7 p.m.
