WATCH: Grape Creek Makes it Interesting with Back to Back District Wins

BALLINGER, TX – The Grape Creek Eagles made playoff seeding interesting on Friday night with their second district win in a row, following a 30-13 victory over the Ballinger Bearcats.

The game was neck and neck all night long. At halftime, the score was 7-6, but Grape Creek was able to apply pressure in the second half by holding the Bearcats to only one second-half score.

"I am so proud of my kids and my coaches," said Coach Tanner Thiel after the game. "As I told them after the game, the way we started the season and the way we ended it felt like two different seasons. Starting the year 0-8, many teams would have given up, but they came to work every day."

Grape Creek ends the year with a 2-3 district record. Once the outcome of the Early TLCA San Angelo game is finalized, playoff seeds will be determined. If TLCA loses, the two teams would have the same district record and be tied for the last playoff spot.
