WATCH: Sterling City Eagles Start District with Win Over Rival

STERLING CITY, TX — The Sterling City Eagles kicked off district play on a high note Friday night with a significant victory against the Water Valley Wildcats, 41-14.

Following the game, Head Coach for the Eagles, Trey Cisco, complimented the team's ability to adapt to the changes that had to be made to get the job done.

“The kids played hard. I’m proud of them,” said Cisco after the game. “We had some stuff we had to change up, but they adjusted well. Especially in the second half, the defense played really well. On offense, we threw in some new wrinkles. I think we improved tonight, and hopefully, going forward, we get better.”

This game marked the beginning of district play for both teams. Sterling City is now 4-1 while Water Valley falls to 1-4.

This is the second consecutive year in a row that the Eagles beat the Wildcats.
