2-a-Days: The Miles Bulldogs Prepare for Deep Playoff Run
MILES— The Miles Bulldogs aren't satisfied with the results of last season and are looking to rectify it this year.
Miles head coach Jayson Wilhelm led his team to the playoffs last season where they squared off against the Sterling City Eagles in the opening round of the playoffs. Earlier in the season, Miles played Sterling City and pulled off a second half comeback to beat the Eagles.
The playoff game would end differently as the Eagles and Bulldogs entered into a shootout with Sterling City pulling off the win.
This season, the Bulldogs are gearing up for a deep playoff run. Senior quarterback Hayven Book, who threw for 2,435 yards, 38 touchdowns, and six interceptions while running for 384 yards and scoring 13 touchdowns on the ground. The Bulldogs also feature dangerous receivers in Cooper Ellison, Manuel Torres, Dillon Medina, Devin Medina, and Preston Tapia.
For the defense, junior Colton Kelly leads the way. Graduating the linemen seems to be a growing problem for teams in the Concho Valley and Miles falls into the category. The Bulldogs are changing defenses to a 3-4 to get more athletic guys on the field. Other defenders include Jaxon Petillo, Tevin Meade, Keeler Pullig, and Hunter Wood.
