Angelo State Soccer Matchup Moved Up Due to Possible Inclement Weather

SAN ANGELO, TX — Angelo State's home soccer match against Sul Ross State on Wednesday has been moved to an earlier start time, with kickoff now scheduled for noon at the LeGrand Soccer Complex.

The Lone Star Conference match was originally scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. Angelo State announced the change ahead of Wednesday's contest on Tuesday night.

Angelo State will look to get back on track and earn its first Lone Star Conference victory of the season against Sul Ross State before traveling to Canyon to face West Texas A&M on Saturday.

The Rambelles enter the week 1-6-3 overall and 0-4-2 in conference play.

Addison Brown has scored Angelo State's last two goals and has found the net in back-to-back matches. Juliana Garcia leads the Rambelles with four goals this season, while Zanae Nylund is second with two.

Garcia recorded the first hat trick of her career against Western Colorado and scored the first goal of the Mike Erwin era at Angelo State.

Claire Stoermer recorded her first shutout of the season against UT Dallas. Graham Peeples and Claire Lorewald have each recorded assists this season.

Erwin earned his first victory as head coach of the Rambelles in a 3-1 win over Colorado State-Pueblo. He is in his first season leading the program.

Eleanor Lock and Ashlyn Vick were named team captains for the season. Graduate assistants Nayeli Celedon, who attended St. Mary's, and Isabel Robben, who attended Fort Hays State, are each in their second season with the program.

Angelo State was selected to finish seventh in the LSC preseason poll. The Rambelles have qualified for the LSC Tournament every season since 2010.

Sul Ross State enters Wednesday's match 0-6-3 overall and 0-4-2 in conference play.

Kiersten Rowland leads the Lobos with two goals. Sul Ross State has had only one player score this season, while goalkeeper Kat Graves has allowed 16 goals.

Following Wednesday's home match, Angelo State will travel to Canyon to face West Texas A&M at 3:30 p.m. Saturday.

The Lady Buffs enter the week 1-5-3 overall and 0-3-2 in LSC play. Braely Martinez leads West Texas A&M with two goals, and four players have scored for the Lady Buffs this season.

Sienna Hurell is the only West Texas A&M player to record an assist. Goalkeeper Breanna Wooten has made 42 saves and recorded three shutouts.
