SAN ANGELO, TX — San Angelo Central defensive lineman Riley Oines announced Sunday he has received an offer to play football at Angelo State University.
Oines, who stands 6-foot-2 and 285 pounds, has emerged as a formidable presence on the Bobcats’ defensive front.
He has also earned offers from Division I Drake, D-II Arkansas at Monticello, and D-III programs Oberlin and Howard Payne.
Oines has been on Central’s roster since his freshman year. He earned second-team all-district honors as a sophomore and was an honorable-mention selection last season as a junior when he recorded 51 tackles and 6.5 sacks.
Oines attended numerous camps the past offseason at schools like Oklahoma State, Texas State, North Texas, Stephen F. Austin and SMU.
Oines and Central will play again at 7 p.m. Friday when the Bobcats host Belton at San Angelo Stadium.
