WATER VALLEY, TX — Water Valley High School junior Bailey Voss will have the opportunity to play in an international volleyball tournament over the next week.
Voss, who helped lead Water Valley to the Class 1A state final last year, will represent a United States team against other countries at a tournament in the Dominican Republic from July 20-27.
The trip was organized by America’s Team, a developmental and cultural sports organization that takes club-level athletes on international tours.
Most of the players will go on to compete at the small college level, such as NCAA Division II or III, according to America’s Team.
Voss was one of 12 players in the state in Class 1A to be named to the Texas High School Coaches Association Volleyball Super Elite Team last year.
As Water Valley’s setter, she led the Lady Wildcats with team-highs of 14 assists, 13 digs and two aces in last year’s loss in the state final to Blum.
Water Valley will begin this season ranked No. 2 in the state in Class 1A.
