SAN ANGELO, TX — Recent Christoval High School graduate Colt Floyd has signed to compete for the Angelo State University track and field team.
Floyd took fourth place at the state meet last spring in the 110-meter hurdles in a time of 14.77 seconds.
He missed the medal stand by just .01 seconds.
He was also the district champion in the 110 and 300 hurdles.
Floyd is joining an ASU program that finished in seventh place in May at the NCAA Division II national meet.
Floyd was also a standout football player for Christoval. He earned first-team all-district honors last season as a defensive end with 79 tackles, including 56 solo tackles, 23 tackles for loss, four sacks, eight QB hurries and a blocked field goal.
He also had a career batting average of .381 for the Cougars’ baseball team.
