SAN ANGELO, TX — The inaugural Maverick McIvor Football Skills Camp has been canceled.
Double S Athletic Camp, which was presenting the camp, made the announcement Wednesday morning, stating there were a lower-than-expected number of registrations.
The camp, which was scheduled for Friday and Saturday at San Angelo Stadium, didn’t have much time to attract attendees as it wasn’t announced until earlier this month.
“While we're disappointed we won't be able to host the camp this year, we're already looking forward to bringing it back next June with an even bigger and better experience for everyone!” Double S Athletic Camp stated.
McIvor will still be offering private quarterback lessons Saturday. For more information, contact 432-249-0279.
McIvor is one of the most successful quarterbacks to ever come through San Angelo. The 2019 Central High School graduate recently completed his college career at Western Kentucky, where he was named the MVP of the New Orleans Bowl in December.
McIvor earned invites to rookie minicamps for the Dallas Cowboys and Chicago Bears. He then worked out for the defending Super Bowl champion Seattle Seahawks in May, but he remains unsigned.
