WALL, TX — The Wall Hawks have finally completed their 2026 football schedule with a Class 6A school more than 450 miles away.
Wall’s Week 2 date was in danger of not being filled, but the Hawks found La Joya, which is located deep in the Rio Grande Valley near McAllen.
The Coyotes went 5-6 last season and lost in the first round of the 6A Division II playoffs, while Wall went 16-0 and won the state in 3A Division II.
Wall has since moved up to 3A Division I in the last UIL realignment.
The game with La Joya is scheduled for 6 p.m Thursday, Sept. 3, in Uvalde.
Wall’s schedule otherwise includes five teams that were ranked in the Top 10 last year, beginning at home Aug. 28 against 4A Division I Canyon West Plains, which was ranked No. 4 and went 12-2.
Other ranked opponents from last year on this season’s schedule include Jim Ned, Ozona, Midland Greenwood and new district rival Llano.
