Lake View Chiefs’ 2026 Football Schedule Includes 3 New Opponents

SAN ANGELO, TX — The Lake View Chiefs’ football schedule for next fall will include three new teams from last season, including a first-ever matchup.

Lake View will play Pflugerville Connally, a Class 5A Division I school near Austin, for the first time in Week 7.

The Chiefs also have new opponents in Midland Greenwood and Plainview, both of which are now in their district. Plainview is a former district rival that Lake View hasn’t played since 2015. Greenwood last played the Chiefs in 2023.

Aside from Greenwood, a state power that went 13-1 last season, it appears to be a fairly manageable slate for Lake View. Connally (7-5), Fort Stockton (6-5) and Levelland (6-5) are the only other teams that posted winning records last season.

Lake View went 7-4 last year for its winningest season in 29 years.

The Chiefs will open the year on the road at Fort Stockton on Aug. 28. Their home debut will be the next week against Snyder. Lake View will then travel to play Lubbock High before hosting Pecos. The Chiefs will play back-to-back road games at Big Spring and Levelland before hosting Connally.

After a bye week, Lake View will open play in District 3-4A Division I at home against Plainview and Andrews before closing out the regular season at Greenwood.

The Chiefs' three opponents they didn't schedule again were Burnet, Lamesa and Brownfield.

Lake View lost some considerable talent from last season’s team — including the district’s Co-MVP, running back Izaiah Rios — but they’ll return quarterback Chris Alvizo, who will head into his third year as the starter.
