SAN ANGELO, TX — San Angelo Central offensive lineman Ethan Boyd on Wednesday announced his ninth NCAA Division I college offer, this one from Abilene Christian University.
Boyd is a highly regarded guard for the Bobcats who has received significant college interest since the end of his junior season last fall.
Boyd has also received offers from North Texas, Oklahoma State, UTEP, Georgia State, Florida Atlantic, UTSA, Navy and UT Rio Grande Valley.
Last year, the 6-foot-5, 300-pound Boyd earned first-team All-District 2-6A honors and helped Central go 8-4 and win its first playoff game since 2020.
He has started 22 straight games since the beginning of his sophomore year.
ACU went 9-5 last season and lost in the second round of the FCS playoffs. The Wildcats have been a program on the rise, which included nearly upsetting Texas Tech in 2024 with former San Angelo Central quarterback Maverick McIvor leading the way. They went on to win their first-ever conference title at the FCS level.
Boyd and the Bobcats recently concluded spring practices and will begin the 2026 season at home Aug. 28 against Abilene High.
