ASU’s Kylie Forney led off the fourth inning with a HR to tie the game. Abby Brand then hit a two-out triple later in the inning to give the Belles the lead.
ASU added an insurance run in the sixth when Ashleigh Dendas hit a sacrifice fly to score Forney from third.
Maddison Ruiz went the distance inside the pitcher’s circle, allowing five hits, four walks and one run while striking out five to collect her 16th win of the season and her second of the weekend.
The Rambelles improved to 45-12 and will play the winner of West Texas A&M and Texas A&M-Kingsville at 2 p.m. Saturday in the final.
