Water Valley’s Rodriguez Signs to Compete in Rodeo at Sul Ross

 

WATER VALLEY, TX — Water Valley High School senior Marcus Rodriguez has signed to compete in rodeo for Sul Ross State University in Alpine.

Rodriguez competes in tie-down roping and team roping.

He won the calf scramble and a $2,000 scholarship last year at the San Angelo Rodeo.

Rodriguez is joining a rodeo program that has finished in the top 25 in the nation five straight years, including a 17th-place finish last season.

Rodriguez was also a first-team all-state special teams player for Water Valley’s football team with 94 tackles.
