Little Olympics Canceled Due to Weather

SAN ANGELO, TX — Due to rain and the forecast for continued inclement weather, the Little Olympics scheduled for today at San Angelo Stadium has been canceled.

The annual track and field meet for third-fifth graders from San Angelo and several area schools has been hosted by the Kiwanis Club since 1942.

“While we know this is a much-anticipated event for our students and families, the safety of our participants, staff and spectators remains our top priority. We appreciate your understanding and support,” San Angelo ISD posted on Facebook.

No makeup date for the Little Olympics has been announced. The meet traditionally has not been rescheduled when weather has forced a cancellation.

Despite rain early in the day Thursday, the showers held off long enough in the evening for the Little Olympics’ sixth-grader meet to be held.
