Angelo State Baseball to Host First Round of LSC Tournament

 

SAN ANGELO, TX — Following a 36-14 regular season, the No. 14-ranked Angelo State baseball team has earned the No. 2 seed in the Lone Star Conference Championship.

The Rams will host No. 7 seed Texas A&M-Kingsville (25-25) in a best-of-three opening-round series at Foster Field at 1st Community Credit Union Stadium.

Game times are set for:

  • Friday, May 1 at 6:30 p.m.
  • Saturday, May 2 at 3 p.m.
  • Sunday, May 3 at 1 p.m. (if necessary)

ASU enters the postseason as the defending LSC Tournament champion, and the Rams have captured six conference tournament titles overall (2025, 2023, 2022, 2021, 2015 and 2012).

The Rams and Javelinas met earlier this season, with Kingsville winning a 14-inning opener before ASU responded with three straight victories to claim the series.

The LSC Championship is a two-week event. The first week includes a trio of best-of-three series on May 1-3, hosted by the No. 2, 3 and 4 seeds.The winner of each opening series will advance to a double-elimination format on May 7-9 hosted by LSC regular season champion UT Tyler, which receives a first-round bye.

The other first-round matchups are No. 3 St. Mary’s vs. No. 6 West Texas A&M, and No. 4 St. Edward’s vs. No. 5 Lubbock Christian.
