SAN ANGELO, TX — Angelo State will look to extend its momentum this weekend as it travels south to face St. Edward’s on Friday and St. Mary’s on Sunday in Lone Star Conference play.
The Rambelles face the Hilltoppers at noon Friday in Austin before taking on the Rattlers at 1 p.m. Sunday in San Antonio.
Last time out, Angelo State delivered a dominant weekend at Mayer Softball Field, sweeping Western New Mexico and Sul Ross State while outscoring opponents 34-6.
Maddison Ruiz and Addy Ewing combined to earn all four wins in the circle, allowing just one earned run across 21 2/3 innings.
Scouting Report: St. Edward’s
St. Edward’s enters the weekend 12-29 overall and 9-21 in conference play, including a 6-8 mark at home.
The Hilltoppers are batting .257 as a team and averaging 3.4 runs per game. Darian Deleon leads the offense with a .339 average, while Dafne Mercado has a team-high five home runs and Ryan Rangel leads with 26 RBIs.
In the circle, St. Edward’s holds a 4.08 ERA. Haley Carmona leads the staff with a 3.72 ERA, while Kylen Padgett has recorded eight wins and 73 strikeouts.

Scouting Report: St. Mary's
St. Mary’s is 25-18 overall and 17-13 in conference play, but has dropped five of its last six home games. The Rattlers are hitting .305 as a team, led by Miah Corona’s .377 average. Gabriela Banda is hitting .357 with a team-high five home runs and 39 RBIs.
St. Mary’s pitching staff sports a 3.49 ERA, with Ariella Saenz leading the way with 11 wins.
Angelo State leads the all-time series 53-38 and is 21-20 in San Antonio.
