No. 2 Rams, No. 14 Rambelles Earn Four Provisional Marks in Abilene

ABILENE, TX — Angelo State’s track and field teams recorded four provisional qualifying marks at the War Hawk Classic, despite rain cutting the meet short over the weekend.

Three of the Rams’ provisionals came in throwing events, led by Vanan Sharma, who finished second in the discus with a throw of 175 feet, 10 inches (53.60 meters), improving his season-best mark.

Kobi Valchar also posted a season-best in the discus at 171-4 (52.22 meters), earning a qualifying mark. Sharma added another provisional in the shot put with a throw of 56-10¾ (17.34 meters), marking a significant improvement from his previous best.

The Rambelles’ lone provisional came on the track, where the 4x100-meter relay team of Kylie Frush, Keagan Galmor, Aaliyah Harrison and Kinlee Lawlis posted a time of 45.77 seconds.

Angelo State will return to action next weekend, competing at the Bryan Clay Invitational in California and the Joe Gillespie Invitational in Stephenville.
