WALL, TX — Wall senior Reid Ballard announced his commitment Monday to play baseball next year at Odessa College.
Ballard is a two-sport star for the Hawks in baseball and football, leading both programs to state titles in 2025.
He was a first-team all-state center for the football team, grading out at 96% last season while not allowing a sack for the second consecutive year.
He was also a first-team all-state third baseman on the baseball team who had a .329 batting average. He was an ace pitcher as well with a 10-0 record on the mound.
Ballard is off to another strong start this season, allowing only nine hits and two earned runs in 17 innings to go along with 16 strikeouts. He has a .290 average at the plate.
Ballard will join teammate Kellan Oliver at Odessa College, which has a strong program that posted a 40-17 record last season.
Wall’s roster is stacked with college-bound players as the Hawks look to defend their state title this spring. In addition to Ballard and Oliver, Gage Reichenau has signed with North Central Texas College, while Hagyn Barbee is headed to Iowa Western.
