Angelo State Rambelles’ 10-Game Winning Streak Snapped by West Texas A&M

 

CANYON, TX – The Angelo State University women's basketball team had its 10-game winning streak ended Thursday with a 69-62 loss on the road to No. 7 West Texas A&M.

ASU led 62-59 with 6:28 remaining after a 3-pointer by Majik Esquivel, but the Belles never scored again as WT closed the game on a 10-0 run.

ASU fell to 15-10 overall and 13-6 in Lone Star Conference play, while WT improved to 25-3, 17-2.

Stevi Lockhart led ASU with a career-high 20 points, including five 3-pointers. Esquivel had 15 points, five rebounds and a team-high three steals. Taylor Grona added 10 points.

The Belles close the regular season at 2 p.m. Saturday at Eastern New Mexico.
