Grape Creek's Gabe Santillan Commits to Texas Wesleyan

GRAPE CREEK, TX — Grape Creek standout safety Gabe Santillan recently announced that he has committed to play college football at Texas Wesleyan University.

The young man made the announcement on his X account on Feb. 7.

Santillan was a first-team all-district safety this season, with a team-high 117 tackles, four tackles for loss, three INTs, seven pass breakups, and a forced fumble to lead the Eagles’ defense.

He was an integral piece that led Grape Creek to a program record in wins and the Eagles' first-ever playoff victory. Grape Creek defeated Crane in the first round of the playoffs last season, 50-15, to secure the Eagles a Bi-District Championship.

Santillan was also selected to the 2025 All-Cover 1 Defensive Team for his contributions to the Eagles' defense last season.

The 5'11", 178-pound Senior also received an offer from Schreiner University and was selected to play in the FCA All-Star game scheduled to be held this summer.
