SAN ANGELO, TX — San Angelo Central wide receiver Gabriel Garcia has announced his commitment to play football at Sterling College.
Garcia was one of the Bobcats’ top wide receivers last season. He became a bigger part of the offense as the year progressed, highlighted by a two-touchdown performance in a district game against Midland High.
The 6-foot-3, 170-pound Garcia earned honorable mention on the All-District 2-6A team.
He also received offers to play at Anna Maria, Southwestern, Howard Payne, San Bernardino Valley and Judson.
His first offer, however, came from Sterling College, which is located in the small town of Sterling in central Kansas.
Garcia becomes the fourth Central football player from last year’s to commit to play college football, joining Mason Van Sickle (UT Permian Basin), Colton Hill (UT Permian Basin) and Jaekob Jackson (West Texas A&M).
