Angelo State rides a four-game winning streak after avenging a recent loss with a road victory over UT Permian Basin, 60-51, on Jan. 29 in Odessa. The win moved the Rambelles back into the Lone Star Conference postseason picture, where they currently sit as the No. 7 seed.
Majik Esquivel led all scorers with 15 points while adding four rebounds, four assists, a block and a steal. Landry Morrow posted a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds, while Taylor Grona and Kenna Wood scored nine points apiece and combined for 15 rebounds.
Scouting Report: Western New Mexico
Last Meeting: Feb. 1, 2025 (San Angelo, Texas — ASU 82, WNMU 44)
Angelo State dominated the previous matchup, forcing 34 turnovers and winning the rebounding battle 42-33.
Western New Mexico enters the week 0-19 overall and 0-13 in LSC play. The Mustangs are coming off home losses to Texas A&M–Kingsville and Texas A&M International.
WNMU averages 54.3 points per game while shooting 33.2% from the field, 27.5% from 3-point range and 65.2% from the free-throw line. Jordan Sapien leads the Mustangs with 13.3 points per game, while Teeya Gordon adds nine points per contest off the bench.
Defensively, Western New Mexico allows just over 80 points per game and 48.9% shooting from the field. The Mustangs average more than 32 rebounds per game, led by Gordon and Naomi Kimble, who each average more than five rebounds per contest.
Scouting Report: Sul Ross State

The Rambelles used a balanced attack in last season’s meeting, with Keniah Williams recording a double-double and Briley Merket and Esquivel each scoring in double figures. Angelo State outrebounded the Lobos 61-39 and won the turnover battle, 15-10.
Sul Ross State enters the weekend 3-15 overall and 2-10 in LSC play. The Lobos have won two of their last four games, including a four-point home win over Texas A&M–Kingsville on Jan. 31.
SRSU averages 57.2 points per game while shooting 32.1% from the field, 24.7% from beyond the arc and 73.9% from the free-throw line. Sophiya Bustillos leads the Lobos at 12.0 points per game, followed by Leslie Mojica (11.4) and Victoria Aguayo (10.9).
Defensively, Sul Ross State allows 74.2 points per game and 43.7% shooting from the field. Aguayo leads the team on the glass with 8.6 rebounds per game.
