LAWTON, OK — Angelo State returned to the win column Thursday night, using a dominant second half to defeat Cameron 78–57 in Lone Star Conference play at Aggie Gym in Oklahoma.
The Rambelles (4-8, 2-4 LSC) outscored Cameron 45–23 after halftime, turning a one-point deficit at the break into a decisive road victory. The teams were tied at 22 after the first quarter, until the Aggies took a one-point lead at halftime before Angelo State took control.
ASU shot 42.9% from the field, 28.1% from 3-point range, and 90% from the free-throw line. The Rambelles forced 21 turnovers while committing only 11 and held a 33–31 rebounding advantage.
Majik Esquivel led all scorers with 27 points to go along with four rebounds and two steals. Taylor Grona added 24 points, hitting 50% from beyond the arc, and finished with five steals, five rebounds and two assists.
Angelo State continues its Oklahoma road trip Saturday against Oklahoma Christian.
