3rd Quarter
Galena Park North Shore finally broke the stalemate in the 3rd quarter. 4th Quarter
Following another punt from Duncanville, the Mustangs would score again. Daniel Cruz capped off a five-play, 61-yard drive with a 27-yard field goal. Galena Park North Shore led 10-0 with 9:53 left to play.
The Panthers showed great fight on the ensuing possession. Duncanville could have rolled over, but instead drove the football down the field and answered with a touchdown. After moving the ball inside Mustang territory, converting a 4th down attempt along the way, wide receiver Trenton Yancey launched a pass to Zach Turner for a 32-yard touchdown. Duncan pulled within three points with 5:33 remaining in the 4th quarter.
Duncanville's defense came through again for the Panthers, stonewalling Galena Park North Shore on the Mustangs' next offensive possession. The Mustangs had to punt, and Duncanville took over with a shot to go and win the game.
The Panthers began what would be their last offensive drive at Duncanville's 30-yard line. The Panthers pushed the ball steadily down the field, even converting a 3rd and 14 before the Mustangs forced a 4th down attempt at Galena Park North Shore's 25-yard line. The scheme opened up a wide receiver, but the pass was wide of the mark. Duncanville turned the ball over on downs and Galena Park North Shore claimed the 6A Div I Championship 10-7.
