SAN ANGELO, TX — Four members of the San Angelo Incredibles, a Special Olympics Texas delegation, have been selected to compete at the 2026 Special Olympics USA Summer Games in Minnesota.
Special Olympics athletes Isabel Morris and Ben Garcia, along with Unified Partners Marina Alvarado and Clint Morris, were chosen from hundreds of applicants statewide to represent Texas in bowling at the national games.
Held once every four years, the Special Olympics USA Games bring together thousands of athletes with intellectual disabilities and their Unified Partners for top-level competition and a celebration of inclusion through sport.
The Summer Games will take place from June 20-26, 2026, primarily at the University of Minnesota.
The Incredibles delegation has spent years preparing for opportunities like this and, for the athletes, the honor extends well beyond bowling.

“This is the opportunity of a lifetime,” Unified Partner Marina Alvarado shared. “Isabel is my niece and we have participated in Special Olympics for over 15 years together, and this will be our first USA Games, and to get to represent Texas together is a dream come true.”
With the excitement comes a financial challenge. Travel, lodging, uniforms, and training expenses add up quickly, and while Team Texas is working to secure funding, community support remains essential.
“Community support has always been the backbone of the Incredibles’ success,” Incredibles Head of Delegation Dorothy Morris said. “Over the years, we have been fortunate to have volunteers from across the community, including Goodfellow Air Force Base and Angelo State, join us to play with and coach our athletes, and community members who have helped us find and secure practice locations.”
Morris said local support will ensure every athlete has the resources needed to attend the national competition.
“This isn’t just about sports,” she added. “It’s about inclusion, pride, and showing the world the strength of our community.”
The Incredibles are now inviting residents, businesses, and supporters across West Texas to join their journey to Minnesota. Contributions will help cover travel and competition costs and send a message of encouragement to the athletes as they prepare for the biggest stage of their careers.
