Bobcats, Chiefs 3-0 at Doug McCutchen Tournament

SAN ANGELO, TX — With just one game remaining for each of our San Angelo schools in pool play, the Central Bobcats and Lake View Chiefs are 3-0 at the Doug McCutchen Basketball Tournament.

After both the Chiefs and Bobcats swept their two games on Day 1, each team won again this morning. The Bobcats clamped down defensively to beat Canutillo 50-27 this morning, while Lake View downed Del Valle 45-28.

The wins put our San Angelo schools on a crash course to meet in the championship game held at Lake View High School on Saturday at 2 p.m. Both teams have one final game remaining in pool play.

Central squares off with Lubbock Estacado at Central High School at 3 p.m., and the Chiefs battle it out with Bangs at Lake View High School at 3 p.m.

The Bobcats beat Plainview, 74-54, and San Antonio Taft, 73-68, on Thursday. Lake View came from behind to beat El Paso Ysleta, 58-45, before dominating Monahans, 58-25, on Thursday night.
