CINCINNATI, OH — There is some bad news out of the NFL on Monday, as the League announced that the NFL is suspending Cincinnati Bengals WR Ja'Marr Chase one game without pay for spitting on Steelers' Jalen Ramsey on Sunday.
The suspension will sideline Chase for the Bengals' upcoming matchup with the AFC East-leading New England Patriots.
First reported by ESPN's Adam Schefter, the suspension will cost Chase up to $500,00 as he will have to forfeit his weekly salary of $448,333 and his $58,823 per game active bonus.
The two were involved in a scuffle early that attracted offsetting unsportsmanlike conduct penalties.
Chase denied spitting on Ramsey, but the NFL determined the video evidence was sufficient to warrant a suspension.
The Bengals face off with the Patriots on Sunday, November 23. Kickoff is scheduled for 12 p.m.
