Lake View QB Alvizo Injured in First Half of Playoff Game

SAN ANGELO, TX — Lake View quarterback Chris Alvizo was injured in the second quarter of the Chiefs’ playoff game Thursday night against Lampasas at San Angelo Stadium.

Alvizo took a hard hit while scrambling and fumbled the ball at the Lampasas 44-yard line about midway through the second quarter.

Alvizo ran off the field under his own power, but he appeared shaken up by the hit and has not returned.

Alvizo was 15-of-21passing for 158 yards and a touchdown with one interception.

Backup QB Caleb Schumpert is 5-of-12 for 53 yards since replacing Alvizo. Schumpert threw an interception in the final seconds of the first half while taking a shot downfield.

Lampasas jumped out to a 21-0 lead by the end of the first quarter, and the Badgers have extended the lead to 42-7 at halftime.

This story will be updated after the game.
