Central Bobcats Set First-Round Playoff Game With El Paso Pebble Hills

SAN ANGELO, TX — The Central Bobcats have set up their first-round playoff matchup with El Paso Pebble Hills.

The Bobcats (6-4) and Spartans (7-3) will play at 7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 13, at Ratliff Stadium in Odessa to kick off the Class 6A Division II playoffs.

Central is headed to the postseason for the first time since 2022 after a third-place finish in District 2-6A, capped by last night’s 52-16 win over Frenship.

The Bobcats were able to avoid a long road trip to El Paso and a meeting with District 1-6A champion Eastwood (9-1) thanks to their win over Frenship.

Pebble Hills was also third place in District 1-6A following its 28-15 loss to El Paso Franklin on Thursday.

Central and Pebble Hills have met three times, with the Bobcats winning all three games, most recently in 2019 when Central pulled off a 25-point comeback for a 44-40 win.

Their only meeting in the playoffs occurred in 2017 when Central won 35-20 in the first round.

The Bobcats are enjoying their first winning season since 2019. They're rolling into the playoffs on a three-game winning streak after shaking off an 0-2 start in district play.
