RICHARDSON, TX — With the start of the 2025-26 season less than a month away, the Lone Star Conference announced its preseason women’s basketball poll Monday, projecting Angelo State to finish sixth in the league standings.
Defending conference champion Texas Woman’s University was picked to repeat, receiving 20 of the 51 first-place votes. Lubbock Christian, last year’s South Central Regional champion, came in second, followed by UT Tyler, West Texas A&M, and Eastern New Mexico to round out the top five.
Behind Angelo State, Texas A&M-Kingsville, UT Permian Basin, Midwestern State, and St. Mary’s completed the top 10 in the preseason rankings.
The Rambelles open their 2025-26 campaign with a three-game road swing through Colorado, taking on Adams State, Regis, and Western Colorado from Nov. 14–17. ASU will then return home to tip off its home slate on Nov. 21 against Fort Lewis at the Junell Center-Stephens Arena.
