SAN ANGELO, TX — Angelo State junior outside hitter Madi Parrish was named the American Volleyball Coaches Association NCAA Division II National Player of the Week following her standout performances this past weekend at the Kathleen Brasfield Invitational presented by All-American Chevrolet.
Parrish, a junior outside hitter from Saginaw, recorded 54 kills while only committing seven errors on 114 swings for a .412 attack percentage.
She recorded 29 digs, as well as a pair of aces and blocks.
In two sets of action in the season opener against Arkansas-Monticello, she had seven kills on 15 attempts without an error. She followed that up with 12 kills and a .407 attack percentage in a sweep of Adams State.
The LSC Preseason Offensive Player of the Year recorded 22 kills and 13 digs while hitting .452 as she lifted the Belles' offense to a four-set win over Southern Nazarene. The match was her first double-double of the season and her fifth-career match with 20 or more kills.
The finance major capped the weekend off with 13 kills and 10 digs as the Belles claimed a five-set win over No. 23 Colorado Mesa.
Parrish, having earned this honor on Sept. 22, 2024, is the first Belle in program history to earn multiple National Player of the Week honors.
Parrish is only the second player in LSC history to earn multiple National Player of the Week awards, joining West Texas A&M's Sarah Butler, who claimed three between 1997 and 1999.
Parrish and the Belles take on Colorado Christian at 7 p.m. Tuesday in Lakewood, Colo.
