1,500 Catfish Stocked in O.C. Fisher Reservoir to Help Rebuild Population

SAN ANGELO, TX — A total of 1,500 channel catfish were stocked into O.C. Fisher Reservoir on Monday to help rebuild the fish population in the lake at San Angelo State Park.

The catfish averaged 10-12 inches, according to the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department.

O.C. Fisher was below 1% capacity as recently as last year, but heavy rain in July helped it swell to over 19%. It is currently at about 16%.

About 600 catchable-sized catfish were also stocked in the Concho River downtown Friday. Those stockings will continue every two weeks through the end of October.
